In contrast to our last entry, this flower, the Blue River II Hibiscus, is a perennial on a larger scale. The mature height of the hibiscus is 5 feet and it will get 3 - 4 feet wide. Blue River II Hibiscus wants moist to wet soil conditions which should make it a lovely addition in the southeast. I remember a glorious hibiscus I had when living in Florida. Interesting flowers. This one has 10 inch white flowers that should make a stunning display. Can you imagine flowers the size of dinner plates? Additionally, hibiscus flowers provide yet another nectar source for many species of butterflies. Just imagine them dancing around this lovely plant. Consider what a background planting these could be. Blue River II grows in zones 5 - 9 and truly loves the summertime heat. In the autumn, the leaves turn yellow. Grow this lovely hibiscus in full sun and enjoy the glorious display it will make in your flower garden.
